I’ve spent the last 20+ years helping others find the right words during the hardest moments, whether navigating public crises or telling the stories that shape how communities are seen. I’m also a proud Salvadoran immigrant, special needs advocate, and first-time children’s book author sharing a story close to my heart.
I was born in Soyapango, El Salvador, and immigrated to Los Angeles as an undocumented child. I entered first grade without knowing how to read, write, or speak English. My journey, full of obstacles, community support, and cultural pride, shaped who I am and how I show up in the world today.
I was the first in my family to graduate from college, earning a journalism degree from California State University, Northridge, where I became Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Sundial. I went on to report for the Ventura County Star, Orange County Register, and LA Daily News. That experience taught me how to listen closely, write clearly, and always lead with the truth.
Today, I serve as Communications Director and spokesperson for a Los Angeles City Council member. My work focuses on strategic messaging, media response, and community trust, especially on issues like immigrant rights, economic justice, and public health. I bring empathy and clarity to high-stakes conversations.
When my son was diagnosed with autism, everything shifted. I learned how to advocate harder, listen deeper, and create space for him to be fully seen. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s taught me to lead with love and to speak up for families navigating similar paths.
Franky(sito)’s World is a love letter to my son, our culture, and every child who doesn’t fit into the boxes society expects. It’s a children’s book, available in English and Spanish, about neurodiversity, family, and finding your voice. I wrote it to honor our story and to help kids like Franky feel seen, understood, and proud of who they are. It’s also a hand to hold for families walking this path, a reminder that they’re not alone.
“A culturally rich story that introduces autism through the eyes of a Latino child, and invites all kids to feel seen.”
Whether you're a school leader, event organizer, or fellow parent on a mission, I’d love to connect. Let’s partner on work that uplifts, informs, and inspires.
